The Challenge
Greater Manchester Police required a dedicated Commercial Vehicle Unit to support roadside enforcement operations. The vehicle needed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for officers and members of the public, whilst incorporating secure storage for specialist equipment and durable finishes capable of withstanding intensive daily use.
The Solution
We converted the Mercedes Vito into a purpose-built Commercial Vehicle Unit, creating a spacious rear compartment with integrated bench seating, secure under-seat storage and robust, easy-clean finishes throughout. Bright LED lighting and grab handles improve accessibility and usability, whilst the bespoke layout provides a practical environment for officers carrying out roadside checks and engagement activities.
To maximise operational capability, we also designed and manufactured a custom rear storage system. This incorporated dedicated slide-out compartments for specialist equipment, open shelving for frequently used items, a lockable upper cupboard for secure storage and additional space for larger operational items. Every aspect of the conversion was tailored to provide durability, safety and ease of access.
The Result
The completed vehicle provides Greater Manchester Police with a modern and versatile Commercial Vehicle Unit, offering a comfortable and professional environment for operational duties. The bespoke storage system ensures specialist equipment is organised, secure and immediately accessible, whilst the durable construction and carefully considered layout enable officers to work efficiently and maintain operational readiness in the field.
